Cutting-edge Audi technology with Powertrain and Suspension

In the Audi Q8 Sport Concept, the Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive system transfers the drive system's power to the wheels with a superior level of control. The study of vehicle technology benefits from the latest high-end solutions drawn from the luxury car portfolio, even for a vast body. The Adaptive Sport Air Suspension - an air suspension with controlled damping properties - enables a wide range of driving characteristics ranging from a comfortable ride with maximum damping to sporty driving and optimum handling.  the suspension system offers five levels of ground clearance with height differences of 90 mm (3.5 in), selecting the ideal level for each situation. The front and rear axles are designed as lightweight, five-link structures.

Audi installs 305/35 tires on the large wheels, size 11J×23. The five-spoke Y interlocking design of the wheels conveys a filigree yet powerful image. With a diameter of 20 inches, Ceramic brake discs curb the power of the new concept car.

Dynamic lines and high-tech design details

At first glance, it looks like an ultra-dynamic and luxurious Audi – that's how the 2017 Detroit Auto Show audience received the Audi Q8 concept study. The newcomer to the Geneva Show is a more sporty model of this combination and a stylish alternative to the powerful presence of SUVs. The Q8 and the Q8 Sport Concept are synonymous with the ultimate company, tailored sportiness, and visually present technology.

At 5.02 meters, the Audi Q8 Sport Concept makes an impressive mark in the luxury segment. With a wheelbase of 3 meters, the vehicle on display offers plenty of space for passengers and luggage. Despite the sloping coupe-like roofline, even rear-seat passengers can enjoy plenty of head and shoulder room. The new operational concept uses large touchscreens in the cockpit, flanked by an expanded version of the 'Audi virtual cockpit' and an analog head-up display. The latter uses augmented reality technology that integrates natural and virtual worlds.

From a front view, the 2.05-meter broad Audi Q8 Sport concept has an imposing appearance. The octagonal monocoque is the hallmark of the vehicle. The car is an elaborate sculpture significantly more comprehensive than the models produced by 'Audi' today. Its surface is characterized by a lattice structure similar to the geometric shape overlayed with aluminum parts, while the surroundings are painted in a contrasting color. As with the Audi models, the air intakes are significantly larger than in the base model - a sign of the higher aerodynamic requirements of the high-performance power unit. Distinctive blades painted in the car's color form the lower edge of the front bumper.
